What about full shade with high temps in Georgia? Do you have a blend for that?

It’s nice grass but saying it’s “dark” green is a bit misleading imo. It’s more like a bright neon green in my experience and even in that shot of it in the field in this vid.

what makes this weed and feed better than any other weed and feed?

I planted the seeds on a problem slope in late September. The grass started to grow and now it's February and I have complete coverage. The grass is greener than all of my neighbors.

Is this the wrong product for use in soil that is basic? ( too high a ph from excessive calcium carbonate in soil and irrigation water ) my soil is fully transformed from Luess with gravel to Roman Concreteed glacial till ( sixed 4"-10" )from 18" to 25' below .

Try this in hard pan Oklahoma or Texas clay soil. Good luck with your 4 FOOT long roots. I would buy some of your products NOW if I could get anything over 2 inches of roots.

I love your video. I have to be honest, I never have used your grass seed before, but just bought a large bag for some lawn renovation I'm doing. I bought the seed without knowing much about your company. After wathcing this video, I'm glad I spent my money and support a good family owned company. Hope the grass looks good when it grows. But more impartantly, glad to support a good company that cares about it's customers.

I have a few qustions. 1) I live in NYS state and heard from our ex lawn care program that you are only allowed to put crabgrass control until mid-may how would that be for me than? Why isnt there a just crab grass preventer without feed? 2) We have a park like lot with weird hours for sun depending on the year when the trees are with/without leaves Would it be better to use Dense shade mix grass seed or will it burn in parts that get full sun or afternoon sun? Our property gets South facing sun. but again we have a lot of trees.

If you have a yard with 3 very large trees that are over a century old each and one of them being an oak, which seed would be best for that? Each section of the yard only gets 2-3 hours of sun throughout the day but it is also a backyard that is heavily trafficked.

I over seeded with Ultra again last fall, mainly to thicken my lawn.I used your starter fertilizer,then in late November I used your winterizer. (I’ve also used your soil enhancers a couple times for a couple years). I live in Ma and the soil temp is now 45 degrees. What do I use to enhance the thickness of my lawn now?

I'll have to give this a try. Scott's stuff has always let me down, especially when it comes to weed encroachment. I live right beside a road, with woods all around, so seeds getting blown into the yard are the norm, not the exception. I don't mind dandelions, but trying to keep out the other, more aggressive plants, including grasses, has been a battle I've lost. My problem is that the soil is fantastic, the prior owner being a green thumb who spent decades adding organic matter and other amendments to build up the quality of the ground. Everything grows well, including weeds! I like the idea of the deep roots on the BBTF, but does it crowd out other types of grass and whatnot?

When is the best time for me to grow Johnathan Green black beauty original?

I have somewhat shady yard and moss seems to be taken over most of mt yard. What can I do to eliminate this problem?

I just overseeded 3 month old new sod in my back yard the end of September.. there were some damaged, thin spots on the original sod from drought this past summer where some crabgrass grew in the thin areas.. but has died off with some weed treatment and cooler weather... will this overseed grow in thick and take over those areas to drown out the weeds in the future? I plan on doing a spring overseed as well

I bought, 25 lbs Sun & Shade, 7 lbs Shady Nook and 7 lbs Dense Shady. The SS came up thin for 9500 square ft of seed in only 8500. The other two have been laying there doing nothing but feeding birds since September 25 2022 (28 days ago). Unless a miracle happens I would not recommend this brand to anyone unless you are giving it to your neighbor because you're trying to dominate them and thier lawn!

I disagree Dense Shade cant handle heat. Used it last yr didnt realize it was low maintenance. Fed it too muxh water and fertilizer. It just died. I used shady nooks this fall. We will see next spring. So far so good

Jonathan Green seed is the best out there. Reseeded some bare spots in my front yard, and had just about 95% germination within 2 weeks.

This grass seed is terrible... the first year it was okay, very green. But then grass started dying in spots the same year, which never happened to me in all the years using Scotts. With Scotts I had a beautiful yard, year after year, the envy of my neighbors. Again this grass seed started dying in spots, and then the 2nd year it was horrible. The seed is full of fungi. I had decided use this seed after seeing one of the neighbor's yard, but low and behold, their yard looks worse than my yard. I wish I had never switched. I hope my lawn can recover, without taking it down to the dirt and starting from scratch. I hired a lawn service to try to fix this mess that John Green created. I don't want to hear it, It's your grass seed and nothing else! My comments is here because this is the only place I found to leave a review, but trust me I will keep looking for the place to leave an official review, even is that is the BBB.
